Abstract

Christina Thompson was interviewed on July 27, 2015. She has been the pastor at the Methodist Church since 2009 and her interview detailed the Church’s history in the Vista neighborhood. A large part of the interview talked about the old building, it’s demolition, and construction of the current church. Much was said concerning the destruction and de-consecration of the old location and people’s feelings toward losing that place. Thompson also outlined many of the various community outreach programs that are currently in place and some that happened in the old building. The emphasis of the interview is to highlight the Methodist Church as a community partner within the Vista neighborhood, with church members, neighbors, and Whitney Elementary School.
