Abstract
In an interview with Elizabeth Stadley on March 3, 2014, Kay Johnson discusses her business Dream Chocolate, and her experience as a local business owner.
After selling her first business, Kay wanted to craft foods appropriate for outfitters due to her love of the outdoors and many connections with rafting companies. As she was working on her new business, she was contacted by a struggling local chocolate company to help expand their distribution. She combined her two ideas to help develop the Boise River Bar and Payette River Bar which she began selling to rafting companies locally and beyond. After realizing that there was limited interest from outfitters, Kay expanded her sales to include gift shops. Her success led to the launch of her own company and eventual buy-out of the chocolate company she has been working with.
