Abstract
In an interview with Elizabeth Stadley on March 21, 2014, Jessie Krumpe discusses The Basque Market’s history in Boise and their development of a specialty product for the Boise 150 project celebrating Boise’s sesquicentennial. Jessie describes the businesses desire to use the Boise 150 project as an opportunity to expand the public’s awareness of the Basque culture. She also discusses how the business has evolved and their experience in the small business community of Boise.
The Basque Market was established as part of the Basque Block in December 2000 by Tony Eiguren and Tara McElhose-Eiguren. They are known for their weekly giant paellas, daily selection of tapas, Basque and Spanish wine selection, wine tasting classes, and cooking classes.
