Abstract
In his interview with Gaby Thomason on June 20th, 2018, Duskin Johnson, who served as a Boise firefighter, offered his memories of working from the years 1965-1990. In that time, Johnson served as a hoseman, senior firefighter, and captain. Johnson spoke on the following topics: How he received his nickname “Foamy”; how he became a firefighter; the supportive community between him and his colleagues; humorous memories at the firehouse; his memories of various emergency calls; serving at the airport and more. Johnson’s wife, Ann Johnson was present and shared her experience of being in the early years of their marriage when Johnson joined the department, and her memories of events and friendships with other firefighters.
