Abstract
In an interview with Troy Reeves on September 19, 1998, Kathleen Day discusses her involvement with the Greenbelt and Pathways Committee. She describes how she first became interested in helping to protect public access to the waterways while acting as the environmental chairman for the League of Women Voters. She recollects her fist impressions of the committee, the other members, and their major accomplishment of maintaining open space and public access to the river. She notes the struggle to convince some people, specifically land owners, that waterways are public and the similarity in issues she is seeing in her current hometown of Madison, Wisconsin.
