Abstract
In an interview with Troy Reeves on June 22, 1998, Mike Misner discusses his involvement with the Greenbelt and Pathways Committee from 1992-1996. He describes the completion of the Willow Lane segment of pathway as an accomplishment he is most proud of, the conflicts with BSU on the plan to build the pathway through campus, and some of the pushback from property owners near the proposed pathway on the Willow Lane segment. He recounts some of the compromises that were made to balance public access, wildlife habitat preservation, and real estate development as well as the discussions about preserving the Oregon Trail. He also describes how the committee’s advisory role was a weakness at times.
