Abstract
In an interview with Troy Reeves on July 28, 1998, Ken Stolz discusses his involvement with the Greenbelt Committee in 1976. He describes his first impression of the committee as a very dedicated group of people, his astonishment that the Greenbelt has extended to Eagle, and the irony of property values increasing when the popular opinion was that they would decrease if the Greenbelt ordinance passed. He remembers a positive relationship between the Committee and the City staff and leaders, and his excitement at his father serving on the Committee many years after he left. He discusses using the success of the Boise River Greenbelt to inform his work with the Missoula City Parks Board to build a greenbelt, and what it has meant to him to work on the Missoula Greenbelt for over a decade.
