Biographical / Historical
The Jensen's family consisted of Wilford Daniel Jensen, his wife Pearl Jensen, and two children, Norvan and Ruth Oleta Jensen. They settled in Boise in 1929 after migrating from Columbus, Ohio, and then to Alberta, Canada.
Wilford Jensen purchased the first part of what would become the Jensen Farm in 1932, following that with another purchase three years later. These purchases created a 66-acre parcel of land the Jensen's farmed during the heart of the Great Depression through the 1980s. The family's crops included alfalfa and grain, among others. They also raised dairy cows.
The Jensen Farm was located at 9920 Lake Hazel Road Boise, Idaho 83709. The property was donated to the City of Boise by Norvan Jensen prior to his death in 2002.
