Biography

Capital City Development Corporation (CCDC) was founded in 1965 as a redevelopment and urban renewal agency for Boise. The public redevelopment agency is responsible for preparing master plans and managing redevelopment activities within designated urban renewal districts. Six distinct districts have been created: River-Myrtle Old Boise District; Westside District; 30th Street District; Shoreline District; Gateway East District; and State Street District. Activities within the districts include both public and private projects which include parking garage construction, transportation and street improvements, brick sidewalks and public plaza construction, planting of trees along streets, construction of public buildings, partnerships with private developers, and funding of public art.

CCDC is governed by a nine-member Board of Commissioners selected by the mayor and confirmed by the City Council. The commissioners serve five-year terms, they are not paid for their service.
