This collection contains postcards with black and white images depicting different parts of the completed Arrowrock Dam with handwritten captions explaining some parts and required maintenance. Also included are two postcards with images of the Shoshone Ice Caves in Shoshone, Idaho.

Physical Description

Contains a short, printed blurb on the U.S. Reclamation Service’s construction of the dam, which took place between 1911-1915. There is a handwritten note in pencil that reads “expansion joints 50 ft. apart. Cement test tested every 5 yr. by diamond drill, takes out a core 4 inches in diameter, this core is tested by 27 ½ ton air compressor.”
