Scope and Contents

This collection contains articles of association and bylaws, meeting minutes, correspondence, plans, and project files which document the formation and activities of the Collister Neighborhood Association (CNA) from 1993-2017.

The collection also includes documentation on projects the CNA completed with various grants through the Neighborhood Investment Program (NIP – formerly Neighborhood Reinvestment Grants). Notable projects in the collection include trail markers, neighborhood signs, park improvements, and pedestrian bridges.

Biographical / Historical

The Collister Neighborhood Association (CNA) was formed at the first meeting in November 1993, Officers and Executive Committee were elected in February 1994. Neighborhood boundaries are:
North: Boise City Area of Impact
South: State/Taft Streets
East: 36th Street
West: Pierce Park Lane

The original mission of the association was to:
1. Encourage public participation in area issues
2. Be a resource for area residents
3. Keep public informed of issues affecting them

The collection is arranged in three series, one of which has been further arranged in subseries. The contents of each series are arranged alphabetically. The series arrangement of the records is as follows:

Subseries 2: Transportation

The arrangement scheme for the collection was imposed during processing in the absence of a usable original order. Original folder titles were retained in most cases.
