Anne Hausrath collection on Boise City Council campaigns
Scope and Contents
This collection documents the activities of Anne Hausrath during two successful campaigns for Boise City Council in 1991 and 1995. Also included in the collection are a few newspaper clippings and a flyer from her political activism outside the city council. Materials are largely textual, comprising incoming correspondence, campaign plans, campaign ephemera, election results, and newspaper clippings. A small number of photographs are also included in the collection.

Biographical / Historical
Anne Stites Hausrath was born on March 12, 1949 in Forest Grove, Oregon. She completed a B.A. in Anthropology from Brown University, and an M.A. in Geography and Public Health from University of Pittsburg. In 1977 she became a resident of Boise, Idaho. Anne co-founded the Wetlands Coalition along with Judy Ouderkirk to stop development from destroying wetlands in the Hulls Gulch nature area in the Boise Foothills. She campaigned for Boise City Council in 1991 with a platform advocating for continued conservation of Boise’s natural resources. In 1995 she won reelection to City Council Seat 5.
