Abstract
Carlyle Briggs was born in 1922, he grew up near the corner of Franklin and Eagleson. His father was an engineer and his grandfather was a farmer near Cole and Ustick. Carlyle’s father ran an engineering office out of a building in Downtown Boise until the 1940s, when Carlyle joined the firm and the two of them opened an office on Grove Street. The office is now where the Basque Pelota court is. Carlyle built a house on a plot of land gifted to him from his father on the family land on Eagleson. The Briggs made many changes and improvements to both homes throughout Carlyle’s life, which he documents in this interview.
