Abstract
Maxine Briggs was born in 1923 in Caldwell, Idaho. She is the grand daughter of Michael Roberts and Ada Frost who owned a meat market on Main Street in Caldwell. She attended Caldwell High School, graduating in 1940, then studied at College of Idaho for two years before transferring to University of Idaho. She married in 1943, leaving Idaho for Florida then California before returning to Boise. Her and her husband, Carlyle, built a house on a tract of land owned by his family out of an old barracks building on Eagleson Road. She discusses the development of the Central Bench neighborhood and Boise.
