Abstract

On September 10, 2015 Sandy Dickerson was interviewed regarding the history of the Vista neighborhood. She recounted how her grandparents first came to Boise in the 1930s and built their home in the Vista neighborhood. Dickerson recalled her childhood growing up in the area and what life was like in this part of Boise during the 40s and 50s. She moved away when she was twelve years old, but returned as an adult to the area in the 1970s. Dickerson described the differences in the neighborhood when she was a child versus the changes that took place over her adult years. She also detailed her work with water rights and irrigation issues in the neighborhood. Dickerson describes firsthand the evolution of the Vista neighborhood from the 1940s to the present.
