Abstract
In his interview with Gaby Thomason on August 8th, 2018, Terry Barnes, who served as a Boise firefighter, offered his memories of working from the years 1971-1996. In that time, Barnes served as a hose man and a driver. Barnes spoke on the following topics: How he came to join the fire department; starting pay and how it changed; the Vicks Café fire; getting stuck in a basement; a serial arsonist who lit multiple garage fires and the old Saint Alphonsus hospital; firetrucks and ladder truck from the 1940’s and 1950’s; cleaning toxins out of the skin and more.
