Abstract

In their interview with Gaby Thomason on July 30th, 2018, Sanfred ‘Sandy’ Blodgett, who served as a Boise firefighter, and his wife, Judi Kay, offered their memories of Sandy working with the department from the years 1961-1984. In that time, Sandy served as a hoseman, driver, lieutenant, and captain. Blodgett spoke on the following topics: Serving on the original pension board; stopping a rubber wire volt line that was creating sparks while hitting the ground; significant gas leaks and gas fires; his starting and finishing pay; falling off a slick roof; the firehouse recipes and more.
