Abstract
In their interview with Gaby Thomason on July 14th, 2018, Gary Greenwell, who served as a Boise firefighter, and his wife, Barbara, offered their memories of Gary working with the department from the years 1973-1998. In that time, Gary served as a firefighter, senior firefighter, and captain. Greenwell spoke on the following topics: Gary’s connection with the Fire Department as a teenager; earning the firefighter of the year award; retiring at 47 then going on to working 20 more years in fire apparatus sales; memorable fire and medical calls; friendships with fellow firefighters and their families; Barbara's involvement with the Firettes.
