Abstract
In his interview with Gaby Thomason on August 15, 2018, Richard Randolph, who served as a Boise firefighter, offered his memories of working from the years 1979-2005. In that time, Randolph served as a firefighter, driver, and captain. Randolph spoke on the following topics: His lifetime devotion to being a firefighter; getting started with firefighting in the Air Force; getting laid off after the 1% initiative and how he influenced the rehiring of firefighters; getting involved with the Union and working as Secretary Treasurer; practicing pulling cars apart in junkyards; formation of the High-Rise Committee; and memorable fires he fought throughout the city.
