Florine Stephenson moved with her husband to Boise in 1948 when he became an assistant manager at Overland Lumber, located at Roosevelt and Overland. They purchased a home nearby on Palouse where they lived until the early 1950s before moving to a house on Pacific Street.

Carol and Tim Tallman, owners of Hap Tallman Stocksmans Supply. His father, Hap Tallman, took over the business on Overland Road in 1962 from Patterson Livestock and renamed it in 1964. They recount the history of the business and how the area has developed since the 1960s.

Abstract Harold Dougal moved to Boise with his family in 1936. After serving in World War II, he began working with the Boise Fire Department. After twenty-five years he retired as a Captain dispatch officer. In addition to his work at the Boise Fire Department he also flew airplanes, transporting power line patrols and pipeline patrols for Salt Lake Pipeline and the Idaho Power Company. Jackie Pritchett moved to Boise with her family in 1969. Her husband worked at Albertsons headquarters located on 16th and State. They settled on the Bench, and all five of their children attended South Junior High. She discusses her life living on the Bench and the development of Boise.

She describes how her family came to Idaho, purchased the Aldridge property, their farming and family activities, and described the house they lived in. Abstract

Jerry’s father was Jack Lawson. He traveled the region repairing Burroughs office machines. Jerry’s mother Lozene raised here children on Eagleson road, south of Franklin. Jerry remembers going to KGEM radio station on Cassia, participating in events at Wright Community Church, working for the Idaho Statesman as a teenager, and going to see live music as a young adult.
